Thought I'd take a stab at doing a painting of this shot of Jim from one of our vacations a few years ago. Of course I still have work to do but I think it is turning out pretty well. This is on 300# Arches cold pressed.
hey, dena. i started this and then lost it somewhere in cyber-space. so if it shows up just ignore it. you are very brave painting someone so close to you. i think this makes for a difficult subject, but you seem to have carried it off well. the understated light bluish-gray of his shirt is the perfect foil and complement to his face. you have done the teeth really well. i think these are difficult as it is so easy to make them look like they belong to bucky beaver. you seem to have the knack with them. very nice.
